Every year, we give out at least one scholarship per field course we offer at any of our field sites – often, we are able to give two or three scholarships per course. However, every year, this depends on enrollment for the course, which severely limits our reach. With this fundraising program we are hoping to greatly expand our reach and provide scholarships, regardless of enrollment numbers from full participants, to field courses and research training programs.
A single scholarship waives the entire tuition for the course and provides for all expenses once a participant has arrived at the point of contact in the host country. It covers training provided by experienced field scientists, equipment to learn with, field notebooks, transportation to and from the field site, and all meals and accommodation. This is a real gift – and it is life changing for those who receive it.
Here is what it costs to give a budding conservationist the experience of a lifetime:

Please see our scholarship winners for 2017 Summer, 2016 winter and summer, and 2015 winter and summer (Gentry, Egg and Rasmussen). Here are posts authored by scholarship recipients on their experiences: Isabel Ríos, Hermano Núnes, Raquel Ballesteros, Maria Alejandra Castro and Teresa Huamán. These are incredible learners doing some really fascinating things with their lives – each on their own unique path towards becoming socially and environmentally responsible conservationists and leaders.
Your assistance is invaluable – we couldn’t do this without you. Any gift you give will go directly towards the expansion of this program – the results we hope to see in the Winter of 2017-18.
